Intensive Program - Level 1

Intensive Mat Plus - IMP

IMP provides you with the solid foundation and skills you need to develop effective and motivating group and personal training programs. This course teaches you to design and teach the Level 1 (Essential and Intermediate) Matwork repertoire, integrating small equipment to add variety and meet the specific needs of your clients. In addition to the general course objectives, you will learn:

Workout composition for personal and group training

Essential, Intermediate, Power workouts

Flex-Band, Fitness Circle and Arc Barrel workouts

Effective communication and observational skills, verbal cueing and imagery for performance enhancement and client motivation

Modifications for specific body types, postural issues and conditions

How to incorporate resistance equipment to support and intensify exercises

Theory and practice of postural analysis

Exercise layering related to effective program design

63 exercises plus multiple modifications

Prerequisites

Working knowledge of functional anatomy

30 hours pilates classes

Three-plus years teaching movement or fitness

Duration

40 hours instruction & supervised teaching

Minimum 10 hours observation

Minimum 30 hours physical review

Minimum 15 hours practice teaching

Conducted over 2 weeks or 3 weekends

Total: 95 hours

Intensive Reformer - IR

This course teaches you how to design and instruct Level 1 (Essential and Intermediate) reformer workouts in personal or group training settings for a range of clients. While IR may be taken prior to IMP, we recommend completing IMP first. In addition to the general course objectives, you will learn:

Effective use of the reformer to enhance torso stability and strength, peripheral extremity conditioning, joint stability, flexibility, balance and coordination

How to develop programs for personal and group classes

Essential, Intermediate, Power workouts

Effective communication and observational skills, verbal cueing and imagery for performance enhancement and client motivation

Modifications for specific body types, postural issues and conditions

Theory and practice of postural analysis

Exercise layering related to effective program design

122 exercises plus multiple modifications

Prerequisites

Working knowledge of functional anatomy

30 hours pilates classes

Three-plus years teaching movement or fitness

Duration

50 hours instruction & supervised teaching

Minimum 10 hours observation

Minimum 40 hours physical review

Minimum 25 hours practice teaching

Conducted over 3 weeks or 4 weekends

Intensive Cadillac, Chair & Barrels - ICCB

ICCB prepares you to teach Level 1 (Essential and Intermediate) exercises on the Cadillac Trapeze Table, Stability Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector and Arc Barrel. By the end of this course you are able to fine-tune personal and circuit training programs to meet a variety of clients' conditioning goals. Beyond the general course objectives, you will learn:

Effective use of equipment to enhance torso stability and strength, peripheral extremity training, joint stability, flexibility, balance and coordination

How to develop dynamic programs in a full studio environment

Effective communication and observational skills, verbal cueing and imagery for performance enhancement and client motivation

Modifications for specific body types, postural issues and conditions

295 exercises plus multiple modifications

Prerequisites

IMP + IR or GM + XMP + GR + XRP

Duration

50 hours instruction & supervised teaching

Minimum 10 hours observation

Minimum 40 hours physical review

Minimum 25 hours practice teaching

Conducted over 3 weeks or 4 weekends

Advanced Program - Level 2

Advanced Matwork - AM

This one-day course progresses to more advanced material, providing further options and challenges on the mat for highly conditioned clients. Exercises require a high degree of strength, balance and coordination. Also taught:

Muscular initiation and sequencing of Advanced level exercises

Multiple variations for variety and intensity

6 hours instruction in one day

Advanced Reformer - AR

Learn to use the various reformer components and accessories to intensify reformer repertoire and provide a stimulating workout for athletes, dancers, and highly conditioned clients. Exercises in the Advanced repertoire require greater strength, stability and flexibility. Also taught:

Muscular initiation and sequencing of Advanced level exercises

Multiple variations for variety and intensity

70 exercises

18 hours instruction over three days

Advanced Cadillac, Chair & Barrels - ACCB

Learn Advanced level exercises that will place new demands on the body in different planes of motion using the full range of STOTT PILATES equipment. This course rounds out the Level 2 repertoire, placing particular emphasis on the utilization of the Cadillac, Stability Chair and Barrels for the highly conditioned.
Also taught:

Muscular initiation and sequencing of Advanced level exercises

Multiple variations for variety and intensity
